Bears

a new concept honesty and fun

Each month we will have a new bear
adventure for you to chuckle at in your ezine.

This month, October 2005, its Cleeve,
the non superstitious bear and his ill fated
sidekick Jimbo, just back from bandaging.

Cleeve.

I laugh at superstition, scoff at common fear,
All rooted in tradition, and timerously held dear,
I walk forward ever boldly, no tremor in my tread,
And no one ever scolds me, nothing falls upon my head,
Wherever I choose to lay my hat, I dont get badly beaten,
I dont get squashed nearly flat, cursed or even eaten,
Dancing to shops on pavement cracks, never gave me grief,
Superstitious peoples mind lacks, the possibility of peace,
I happily look at single crows, and stroke lonely feral black cats,
And Im not burned or froze, not anything grim like that,
I put my new shoes on my table, then sing and fall asleep,
But next day Im well and able, plus not ten fathoms deep,
I open my umbrella frequently, in the kitchen and the hall,
And no demons come to speak with me, no ogres come to call,
I turn horseshoes upside down, and pass people on the stairs,
But Im not hung or drowned, shunned by angry teddy bears,
Would that all this were true, of my photographer and friend,
Whose bad luck is quite untrue, whose disasters know no end,
If a train decides to malfunction, or bad karma decides to kiss,
He will be at the junction, and nothings ever known to miss,
Jimbo just has bad luck, wheras I am ever charmed,
I just know when to duck, and never ever get harmed,
Yet he comes seconds after, and is demolished every day,
I guess that I am just laughter, where he is shades of grey,
So I think my survival, proves superstitions are just tales,
My every safe arrival, my lack of injury, pain or wails,
Seems sufficient proof to me, that superstitions are fables,
And black cats running free, and curses about tables,
Are common sense in limbo, for nothing bad ever occurs,
So I will just bandage Jimbo, so he doesnt get any worse,
