a new concept honesty and fun

Its that time again. This month, December its a new
style in tune with Christmas.

Forgive me now for being serious for once, but I think that I ought to try
and put out a few truths and ideas this time of the year, Christmas.

I was a top programmer for years, before going alcoholic and into
heavy smoking, all I did before was make money for those who
were already loaded and only too happy in flogging me to death.

Now I am poor in comparison but rich in experience.

Look at Christmas, this used to be about families,
and good will to all good men, a break from unending work
spent with people we love but rarely get to see in todays
fast paced and driven society.

Now it has been, as so many other great institutions and traditions,
hijacked by commercial profit to such an extent some dread its coming.

Many feel driven to keep up standards of presents way beyond their real
means, in a child led society sponsored by slick tv ads aimed at parents
through their kids, who correctly judge they will not have the heart to
say no to their children though it spoils their futures.

What afterwards, running forever after credit card bills for months of misery.

Surely the old idea of Christmas was to help each other for once in the year,
and spare some thought for others less fortunate than ourselves.

Why dont we try that this year for a change.

We spend ten times more money and look
ten times more miserable.

We would look happy if we helped and smiled at others.
