to create two Athlon 2.8s from scratch.
pictures show building of first, April 29th 2003.
put in an Asus a7v8x motherboard
incorporating 2.0 USB on six ports
two firewire ports, and game port.
put in a Phillips dvd writer and Phillips DVD
reader CD writer. Also twin 40 gig hard
drives. has two external hard drives as well.
has 1 gig ddr memory, and built LAN port.
Bottom line is they both fly, back up to their
secondary disk drives using Norton ghost,
and the fast USB allows the useful utilisation
of external hard drives. Also the loading
of photos is speeded up using the self
same USB 2.0, as is of course the scanner.
I have one pc taking in a one megabyte broadband
then fanning it out to two laptops and another
photo editing pc via a network hub.
all is running off xp pro, under Norton.
below are the pictures showing the build.
it should be noted I was always in systems programming
by trade, not a hardware man as such, so it
shows anyone can pick this up quickly
as I had not built anything before last year.

ribbon cables to the hard and floppy drives in



top right is primary input pc, takes in cable modem,
other pc under desk to left. Both have flat screens
as you can see I am stuck for space.
As you can also see, bears are frightened of leopards,
no bears here.

believe me its not that easy, then just email me any time
